How do I use the countPULSE?

The countPULSE New User Tutorial provides step-by-step video instructions on how to prepare and use your countPULSE to collect video data. The following summarizes the video.

Now that I have my countPULSE, what should I do next?

  1. Please fully charge your countPULSE before using or testing it. Due to shipping procedures the battery level of your device may be too low for proper operations. Fully charging the device will help eliminate this potential occurrence. Remove the orange silicone boot to access the mico-usb charging port.
  2. Download the countPULSE App from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. The countPULSE App will allow you to set up, download, and retrieve/upload your data to thecounthub.com.
  3. Create a user account on thecounthub.com to access the countPULSE App and your completed count data. Please note that you cannot create an account within the countPULSE App and must do this at thecounthub.com.
  4. Update your device firmware to ensure it is the most up-to-date version. Information and steps to update the countPULSE firmware can be found HERE.
A video showing the steps above can be viewed HERE.

  6. Save the Study by tapping "Save Study" in the app. Review the setup information and tap "Finish Setup".

  8. Connect the countPULSE to the app by tapping "Connect To Device" in the mobile app. Select the countPULSE device that appears in the available Bluetooth device list. Once the study is paired to the device you will be brought back to the summary page where you can view the tube strikes the device is receiving.
  9. Once the setup has been confirmed, disconnect the device by clicking "Disconnect Device" within the app. Walking away without disconnecting can cause data retrieval issues upon study completion.
