A Great Protectant for Spring Traffic Counting

A Great Protectant for Spring Traffic Counting

Spring is officially here!

Whether your equipment has been on the shelf hibernating over winter or in the field collecting data in the frigid cold, Spring is a great time to review and clean up equipment for the upcoming data collection push.

Our countCAM4 Help Center has information on preparing and removing your devices from long term storage. One additional item that has helped our efficiency during rainy seasons is the application of dielectric grease on our USB components.

Dielectric grease helps protect electrical components from moisture and dirt, and provides a secondary protectant to the provided download port plugs that come with each countCAM device. All new and repaired countCAM devices have dielectric grease applied, however, to help ensure maximum protection for users in wet environments, we recommend sporadically applying additional grease to these ports.

The Dielectric Grease we use can be purchased on Amazon, HERE

One tube is enough to protect hundreds of devices with multiple applications through the year. Simply apply a small, grain of rice sized amount to a paint brush or Q-tip and brush onto the USB of your countCAM device and voila!
